Bachelor's Degree Accreditation Standards

1Educational Objectives

Programs must establish clear and publicly disclosed educational objectives that demonstrate the program's functions and distinctive features, aligned with contemporary trends and societal needs. Programs must document the relationship between educational objectives and institutional vision or institutional educational objectives, describe the process of their formulation, and establish effective assessment methods to ensure achievement of these objectives.

2Students

Programs must establish and effectively implement reasonable and feasible policies and regulations aligned with achieving educational objectives. Programs must establish and effectively implement measures and procedures that encourage student exchange and learning. Programs must continuously and effectively implement student mentoring mechanisms and effectiveness evaluation systems.

3Graduating Student Core Competencies

Graduating students must possess the following seven core competencies: ability to innovate and apply information technology and mathematical knowledge; ability to execute technical skills, techniques, and use modern tools required in information technology practice; ability to design and evaluate computerized systems, processes, components, or programs; ability in project management, effective communication, interdisciplinary integration, and teamwork; ability to identify, analyze, apply research results and address sustainable development while solving complex and integrated information problems; ability to recognize current issues, understand the impact of information technology on environmental sustainability, social well-being, and global development, and cultivate habits and ability for lifelong learning; ability to understand and apply professional and information ethics, recognize social responsibility, and respect diverse perspectives.

4Curriculum and Instruction

Curriculum design and content must be consistent with educational objectives. The curriculum must include: mathematics-related courses of at least 9 credits; professional courses comprising at least three-eighths of minimum graduation credits, which must include capstone projects demonstrating integrated information design capabilities; balanced general education and professional courses aligned with educational objectives. Curriculum and instruction must meet industry requirements, be subject to reflection and continuous improvement, and ensure development of students' core competencies.

5Faculty

Programs must have a sufficient number of full-time faculty members. Faculty must participate in the formulation and implementation of educational objectives, with expertise covering relevant professional knowledge required in related fields. Programs must promote faculty-student interaction and mentoring effectiveness, maintain industry engagement, provide channels and incentives for professional development, and encourage participation in relevant academic and professional organizations and activities.

6Facilities and Space

Programs must create an environment conducive to faculty-student interaction and student development of professional competencies. Programs must provide adequate professional equipment, tools, and information technology facilities to support student learning. Programs must provide safe learning spaces with equipment maintenance and management systems.

7Administrative Support Personnel and Funding

Programs must provide sufficient administrative support personnel and funding to ensure program quality and sustainable development, with effective leadership and management systems in place. Programs must provide funding adequate to support faculty and student professional development and sufficient administrative and technical personnel. Programs must provide adequate funding for acquisition, maintenance, and operation of teaching, laboratory, and practical training equipment.

8Continuous Improvement

Programs must establish continuous improvement mechanisms and document the effectiveness of continuous improvement efforts.

Ten Core Competencies for Graduates

1. Academic Foundation
Complete well-designed accredited curricula with competence to become an information technology professional.
2. Knowledge and Problem Solving
Apply information technology fundamentals, domain-specific professional knowledge, and mathematical competencies to abstract and conceptualize information models from identified problems and requirements.
3. Problem Analysis
Identify and analyze complex information technology problems, using fundamental principles from mathematics, computer science, and related disciplines to reach well-founded conclusions.
4. Design and Development of Solutions
Design and evaluate solutions to complex information technology problems, as well as design and evaluate systems, components, or processes that meet specific requirements.
5. Use of Modern Tools
Create, select, or adapt and apply appropriate techniques, resources, and modern information technology tools for complex information technology activities, and understand their limitations.
6. Individual and Team Work
Work effectively as an individual in multi-disciplinary environments and function as a team member or leader within a team.
7. Communication
Communicate effectively with the information technology community about complex information technology activities, and be able to write effective reports, prepare design documentation, make presentations, and provide clear instructions.
8. Professionalism and Social Responsibility
Recognize and evaluate social, health, safety, legal, and cultural issues in local and global contexts, and the associated responsibilities to professional information technology practice.
9. Professional Ethics
Understand and commit to professional ethics, responsibilities, and standards of professional information technology practice.
10. Lifelong Learning
Recognize the need for ongoing professional development and possess the ability to engage in independent learning to continue development as an information technology professional.

Degree Requirements

Graduate education extends bachelor education with emphasis on specialization and excellence. In addition to meeting standards 1, 2, 5, 6, 7, and 8 above, programs must also meet the following requirements:
